TAMING THE TONGUE

Good Morning, Mighty Woman of God!

I bless the Lord for each of you and pray that you are growing each day during your spiritual journey with the Lord Jesus Christ.  Today message may sting a little bit, but as always, I ask that you keep an open mind.  God bless you.

(James 3:7-10), People can tame all kinds of animals and birds and reptiles and fish, but no one can tame the tongue.  It is an uncontrollable evil, full of deadly poison.  Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it breaks out into curses against those who have been made in the image of God.  And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth.  Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!

Have you ever said something to someone and immediately you wish you could take it back?  You wish you could just grab the words out of the air, before they reach their destination.  The thing about speaking words out of your mouth is that you can never catch the words once they leave your mouth.  You can eventually apologize for the things that you have said that may have harm someone, but the words still have power.  The bible says, "There is life and death in the power of the tongue".  You can easily speak blessings upon someone or even in your own life, as well as curse someone or yourself.

Think of yourself in worship service at church or in prayer; you are blessing the Lord God and  praying to Him with all your soul.  You may even speak in tongues at some point while praising God, then as soon as church is over, you go home and curse your children out.  God is saying that this should not be so.  I don't use profanity at all, I use to curse like a sailor, so to say.  But I don't use profanity because God has delivered me from that type of poison on my tongue.  Now that I often pray for people and sometimes deliver a prophetic word to people I don't want to do want that scripture says we should not do.  Once I read that scripture, it made a lot of sense to me, because of how the Lord uses me to comfort others.

Woman of God, let me just go over a few things with you today.  If you are a Christian, your ministry and testimony about the Lord, begins with you.  Your character and the words that come out of your mouth should be a testimony about who Jesus Christ is in your life.  You cannot bless someone in  the church, then curse someone on your job.  Profanity and a woman of God does not go together.  In my opinion a lady does not use profanity.  If you cannot get your point across to someone without using profanity, then you need to broaden your vocabulary.  Also, the scripture is not only referring to profanity, it also refers to gossipping and lying.  As a Christian, you should try to be very careful of the words that come out of your mouth.  Yes, the tongue is very hard to tame, but it is always better to try your best to please God by following the scriptures (the manuscript for Christian living).

I have read some of your facebook comments/posts.  I have observed that some of you will post a scripture or word of encouragement on your page, then later on in the day, you will post comments that will mess up your testimony that you posted earlier, this should not be.  If you want to bless people that read your facebook comments, then you have to be very careful not to discourage them by posting something that is not godly on your page.  This also destroys your testimony.
