THE TWINS (Grace and Mercy)

Good morning, Mighty Women of God.

Why is God's Grace and His Mercy so important to us?  Why should we pray for His grace and mercy daily?

Well, I'm glad you asked.  Years ago, before I became a Prayer Warrior, I'd always hear someone praying for grace and mercy.  It just seemed like something that you should say when you are at a lost for words during time of prayer.  Anyway, as I studied the Word of God and gained more knowledge of Him, I realized the purpose of having the Lord's grace and mercy.  Grace give us what we do not deserve.  For instance, we do not deserve the love of the Almighty God to send His Son to die for us.  All of us are sinners.  It's our nature.  God knows that, but He loves us anyway.  I have learned that I need God's grace to be upon my life to allow me to pray for others.  Paul talks about the thorn in his side that God would not remove.  "My grace is sufficient for you."  God's grace allows us to freely walk in His provisions.

Mercy:  No matter what title you hold in your church (Pastor, Deacon, Minister, Elder, Prophet), you have to pay for whatever sins you do. This is a fact.  There are consequences for your actions.  The good thing here is that Jesus sits at the right hand of God the Father making His plead for us.  Even the most elect before God will bear His wrath.  This does not mean that God will not continue to use us for His glory (that's grace).  We should pray for God to have mercy upon us during the season of our punishment.  For instance, if you are not a good steward over your finances and decide to gamble away the finances that God has blessed you with and don't pay your rent, you will be put out.  Now, here comes God's mercy.  Praying for God to have mercy upon you because of your sin, He will make sure you have a roof over your head and food to eat.  That's mercy.  It may not be what you are used to having, but His mercy kept you and your family from living on the street.  (Read Micah 7:9).  LET'S US PRAY!

Father God, we thank you for your grace and mercy today.  Waking us up this morning and keeping watch over us as we slept last night.  You are such an awesome God.  You never sleep nor slumber.  You are the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  We honor you and adore you Lord.  Not just for things in our lives, but for our very lives. Lord we know that we are sinners and we are asking you today to have mercy upon us as we go through whatever the consequences are for our actions.  Have mercy upon our children Lord for the decisions that they may have made that will bring your wrath upon them.  Help us Lord to understand that you are our Heavenly Father and you love us and if you didn't punish us we might never learn the great extent of your mercy.  We understand that our sin does not keep you from loving us.  Thank you Almighty God.  In Jesus Name Amen.
