DON'T BE SO HARD ON YOURSELF

Mighty woman of God, My prayer is that this is a very timely message for you.  I pray that you are blessed and highly favored of the Lord Jesus Christ.  May you find favor in the eyes of those that persecute you with words that are harmful.

(John 13:38), Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice.  (John 18:17), Then saith the damsel that kept the door unto Peter, Art not thou also one of this man's disciples? He saith, I am not.

Jesus knew that Peter would deny Him three times in one day.  Peter told Jesus that He was wrong and that he would never deny Him.  Once Jesus was imprisoned, Peter followed behind Him, but when Peter was asked if he was one of Jesus' follower, Peter said no.  Three times, within 10 minutes Peter was asked the same question and his answer was no.

Woman of God, don't be so hard on yourself.  There are many times when we say or do things that we promised God we would never do, or stop doing.  Peter had a heart for Jesus.  God knows you have a heart for Him.  God knows that you are not purposely sinning.  God knows all of your shortcomings and mistakes that you will make your entire lifetime, yet He still loves you.  As long as you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, the bible says that your sins that were once red have been washed by the blood of Jesus and made white as snow.  You have to believe this in your heart and innermost being.  If you doubt for one second, that your sins aren't covered, you will be hard on yourself whenever you mess up.

However, this does not give you the license to sin.  It is not a free pass to sin.  There were plenty of times that I have broken promises that I have made to God.  I promised to stop smoking, calling my husband a name, spend more time in worship and a lot of other things.  My heart is always willing but sometimes, just sometimes my flesh is not.  There will be times that you just cannot get your flesh to agree with your spirit.  This is when God's mercy and grace comes in handy.   Deliverance takes time and God's grace and mercy is all you need.

God is well aware of your heart's desire to please Him.  He is not taking notes on how many times you make a mistake or break a promise.  God already knew that you would.  The thing about that is you are at least attempting to try to live righteous.  Don't be so hard on yourself.  Imagine how awful Peter must have felt by denying Christ.  Peter was scared and he should have been. Once Jesus was resurrected He told Peter all was well.  He didn't hold it against Peter.  Don't be so hard on yourself, Jesus died on the cross so that you can live free from all condemnation.  AMEN!
