RUN TO THE LIGHT

Good morning, Mighty Woman of God!  My prayer for you today is that you are blessed and highly favored of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  May you be abundantly blessed as you follow after Him.

(2 Samuel 22:9), You are my lamp, O Lord; the Lord turns my darkness into light. (Psalms 119:105), Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. (John 3:19), This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

I love the way that the Holy Spirit gives me titles for the devotional messages.  I was watching a scary movie last night and you know we always want to shout to the people telling them to turn around.  We wait eagerly for a monster to pop out of nowhere to make us jump, usually it's just a kitten.  Anyway, here's our message for today.

One of the things that I always notice in a horror or suspense movie is that, when the person thinks that someone or something is in their home, they always go looking in the dark.  You say to yourself, "why don't they turn on the light"?  But of course, they don't turn on the light, they blindly walk through the house with a weapon of some sort, looking for whatever has invaded their home.  We still scream at the television, TURN ON THE LIGHT!

The devil is very cunning and deceitful, that's his job.  You better believe that the devil is always doing his job.  Some of us Christians are not always on our job.  When the devil is reaking havoc all around us and in our home, we blindly walk around the house wondering where he is.

If you don't invite the Lord, Jesus Christ into your home, your heart, your soul and your mind, you will never have the light that is needed to defeat the enemy.  You are walking around in the darkness expecting the Lord to give you victory in your situation.  If you don't take time out of your busy schedule to communicate with the Lord, talk with Him, and listen to Him, you are going to stay in the darkness.  Jesus Christ is the Light of the world.  Without Him there is only darkness.  If you never turn on the light, you will never see the enemy coming.  Once you enter into your home, the first thing that most people do, if it's dark, is to reach for the light switch, so that you can see your way around your home.

Light overcomes darkness.  Jesus Christ overcame Satan.  Christ is the light that you need in order to overcome the enemy.  The God, the Father has made it so easy for us to receive the Light that He sent to us, to die for us sinners and send the Comforter (the Holy Spirit).  God, the Father says, "if you deny my Light (His Son), then He will deny you.  You don't have to walk around in the dark looking for the enemy if you have turned on the Light (Jesus Christ).  PRAISE GOD!
