CUSTOMER SERVICE

Good Morning, Mighty Woman of God!

I speak blessings of hope, love and peace upon you on today.  I pray that you are all blessed in whatever your endeavors are in the Lord.  Seek God first in everything that you do, and all things will be added to you.

(Proverbs 15:1-4), A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.  The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.

You know the last person that you want to talk to is customer service people.  You don't want to call your utility companies or bill collector to make arrangements because of their customer service department.  I used to be so scared to call the phone company or any other company for that matter.  I had my older sister call the phone company for me back when everyone didn't have cell phones.  Customer Service employees seem to be just mean at times.  They can also be somewhat scary.  You already feel bad that you have to call them and they somehow have a way of bullying you over the phone.  It used to be that the customer is always right, now they get paid by how much money they have collected.

Well here is something that I have learned and also told my children to do as well.  The way to handle people in customer service are really people.  You never know what kind of day the other person has had.  Nine times out of ten, this technique will work.  First of all a gentle voice does turn away wrath.  As soon as the customer service person picks up the phone, they will tell you their name.  Your first response to them should be to acknowledge them by repeating their name.  This gets their attention and you have now developed a relationship.  Whatever you say to them from that point on, keep saying their name.  This calms both of you down.  It really works.

Now as far as on your job or your relationships at home, you have a better chance of turning away wrath than getting yourself into a shouting match if you are speaking to that person in a calm voice.  This is the type of wisdom that God is trying to teach you.  If you find that it is not working you can do the next best thing, which is to reply, "God bless you, and thank you then walk away.  That person will look at you very strange, but this will indeed let them now that you are truly a Christian and a peculiar type of person.  Jesus says that we are to be peculiar type of person.  The other person will definitely feel foolish.  PRAISE GOD!  AMEN!
