This is one of my OUCH messages, but I do believe that if more Christians admit where they need more of or less of we would be able to let our light shine so that we can draw more people to Christ Jesus.

Prayer, Praise, Worship, Reverence.  Sometimes we do these things and think that God should be please with us.  When in fact, some of us think that God owes us something because we are giving Him a "great gesture".  Some of us have the attitude of, "Lord, I read my bible scripture this morning.  And I said three thank you Jesus' this morning, so where is my reward?  Where is my blessing?"

A "great gesture" is when we hold the door open for someone that has their hands full.  A "great gesture" is when we offer to give a dollar to the person in the store, that doesn't have enough to pay for their grocery bill.  A "great gesture" is when we give our neighbor a cup of milk or sugar.  With all these "great gestures", that we might do for someone we get a thank you from them.  Some of us put Jesus Christ in those categories and we expect Him to say, "thank you to us".  We forget that God doesn't owe us anything, nothing, NO THING.  And yet we have the nerve to expect whatever it is that we want Him to do for us, because we gave Him a "great gesture" for the day.

When God the Father sent His Son, Jesus Christ to be beaten beyond recognition, it was not just a "great gesture".  It was not a "great gesture" when God had to watch His Son, Jesus Christ, get nailed to a cross for our sins.  It was not a "great gesture" when Jesus cried out to God the Father, saying, "It is finished".  So pleased don't think that God owes us anything, because we decide to give Him our little three minutes of prayer, praise, worship or reverence.  Three minutes is not considered adoration, humility, love, companionship, it's a "great gesture".  If all that you have time to do, is to give God a "great gesture", keep it, don't waste your time.  God does not need your "great gesture".  Amen.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for my life on today.  I know that you have all power and that I did not even deserve to have your sunlight wake me up this morning.  Father, please forgive me for my sins, the ugly things I do and the things that I have in my heart and mind that does not bring glory to Your name.  Father, I want to have a closer relationship with you.  I don't want to my prayer to be considered a great gesture, teach me Lord how to be a good steward over the time that you give me, so that I can give You more time in my day.  I love you Lord, and I pray that Your create in me a clean heart and mind so that I can worship You in a spirit of truth, in Jesus name, Amen.
