TOO MANY RULES

Good Morning, Mighty Woman of God! I pray that you are all blessed today.  I speak blessings of peace and love in your life.  God bless you, richly.

(Proverbs 22: 17-19), Pay attention and listen to the sayings of the wise; apply your heart to what I teach, for it is pleasing when you keep them in your heart and have all of them ready on your lips.  So that your trust may be in the Lord, I teach you today, even you.

I have heard a lot of people say that they did not want to be a Christian because there are too many rules to follow.  They think of God as some big judge, writing down every single thing that they do wrong.  God is not taking notes, He already had the notes before you were even in existence.  In fact, if God were taking notes, He would have run out of paper just on me alone.  I have also heard that being a Christian is no fun.  Dr. Robeson states that a sinner may say, "I can't accept Christ because there is so much I have to give up." And it is true the sinner must give up certain things. The mistake the sinner makes, however, is the VALUE he places on those things he must relinquish.
The most dangerous thing about this type of thinking is that if you are not a believer, or trying to live righteous you should be afraid of the consequences.  If you are thinking about how bad it is to be a Christian, you need to think about how dangerous it is not to be a Christian.
Being a Christian is not a religion, it is a way of life.  It simply means that you have decided to try to live a Christ-like life, a life that is pleasing to the Lord God.  God is not caught up in whether or not you are following all the rules, He is concerned about your soul.  The reason why Jesus Christ died and rose again was because you won’t be able to follow all the rules.
Being a Christian can be a lot of fun. Try settling in a church on a regularly basis and getting involved in some activities.  You will find out that you can have a lot of fun.  The music is not the same as in the club but you can get your praise on in church.  Try getting high on Jesus instead of drugs.  Becoming addicted to Jesus Christ leads to life, addicted to drugs leads to death.
When I first started reading the bible, I thought that God was mean.  I read about all the wars and punishments that were handed down to disobedient people; and I just knew that I would not make the cut.  I also felt very sorry for Job, because he did not do anything wrong, but was tested so harshly.  I also had trouble understanding all the “thees and thous” of the King James Version of the bible.  I went to the bookstore to find versions of the bible that I could understand and used them interchangeably.
When I decided to give my life to Jesus, I mean really go for it; I had to give up a lot of worldly things and my worldly ways. I was afraid that I would not make it without a blunt every day.  I just changed a little bit at a time.  If you just try a little bit at a time, you will make it. God is not some huge judge taking notes of all your shortcomings and every little mistake you make.
This is a spiritual journey and you will make mistakes, but God is so compassionate and merciful that He give us grace and mercy. He is not taking notes.  The devil has blinded the eyes of the people because he is the tempter of those that are seeking to gain wealth, fame or popularity.  Satan makes it very easy to obtain those things, but are you really willing to pay the cost?  It is his job to make you think that being a Christian is no fun.  Living an ungodly life may be fun for right now, but what are you going to do when Jesus Christ comes back for His bride?
