BACKSEAT DRIVERS

Good Morning, Mighty Woman of God!  I speak blessings of peace, joy an prosperity in your life.  My prayer is that as you seek the Lord with all your heart, you will find Him waiting for you with open arms.

(Proverbs 3:5-6), Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.

I'm sure you have heard the term, "backseat drivers".  It's when the passenger repeatedly tells the driver how to drive.  The passenger yells out when the light changes, how fast to go, what direction the driver should turn, when to slow down and when to speed up.

Woman of God, today the Lord wants you to give up your "backseat driving".  If you have total trust in the Lord, then you will let Him direct your paths.  We say that we have faith and that we trust the Lord, but when things are not headed in the direction that we think it should be heading; you want to take the wheel.  Sometimes we even go as far as to give all your problems to the Lord and then before the day is over, we tend to pick them up again and safeguard them in our pocket.  We have so many issues placed in our pockets that we are weighed down to the point of not being able to handle any situation.

You trust God with your mouth but but do you trust Him with all of your heart?  Don't try to determine whether or not the Lord is going to lead you in the right direction, know that He will.  Your understanding of things cannot possibly be the same as the Lord sees them; therefore you cannot trust what you see or how you may feel.  Acknowledging the Lord in all your ways simply means that you praise, honor and glorify Him in everything that you do.  There are several ways that you can acknowledge the Lord.  Your behavior, characteristics, compassion for others and the way that you act in your everyday life should show believers and non-believers about the God that you serve. If you do those things then you can be assured that He is in charge and leading where He needs for you to be.

Some of you are "backseat drivers".  Imagine the Lord in the drivers seat of your car (your life).  Every time He desires to do something in your life you try to steer Him in another direction.  You are not trusting in Him, you are trusting in what you see.  You may see the pothole in the road, but the Lord is not focused on the pothole; His focus is on getting you over, around or through the pothole. So you will attempt to tell the Lord the way His should be going.  "Backseat drivers", cannot see what's in front of them, nor do they have the use of the rear view mirror.  There is also a side mirror that says, caution things may appear closer or caution things may appear farther away.  There are times in our lives where we will have to approach situations with caution.  The devil may be closer than you can see.  But the Lord knows how close he is.  There will be times when the Lord will need to speed you up as well as slow you down.  Although your path may be a little bumpy, right now, know with all your heart that He will not lead you into a pothole.

If you allow the Lord Jesus Christ to be your driver, you can sit back and enjoy the limo ride.  Once you have fully trusted in the Lord to lead you down the correct path for your life; you will realize that there is no reason for you to try to solve you problems by yourself.  You will trust in the Lord to make the necessary adjustments, turns and stops in your life.  Trust in the Lord and keep glorifying Him in everything that you do, you will find that without your help, you will arrive at the place where the Lord needs for you to be.  He does not need you to give Him directions or be the "backseat driver".  The Lord wants you to sit back and enjoy the ride.  You will never understand why the Lord does what He does, so you must trust in Him with all of your heart.  GOD BLESS YOU!
