LET'S GET DRESS

Good Morning, Mighty Woman of God!  I speak blessings of peace and joy upon your life on today.  I hope that you have had an opportunity to read yesterday's message, because today is the second part of that message.  As you read, please pray that the Lord will give you wisdom and understanding, as the Holy Spirit breaks down each piece of your armour. God bless you.

(Galatians 6:13-18), Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand.  Stand therefore, having you loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness: And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.  And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

I love war movies where people are in full body armour and fighting with their swords and shields.  One of my favorite movies is 300.  There were 300 soldiers that fought for days against the Prince of Persia's army of thousands.  One of the reasons why the 300 men were able to stand against thousands of soldiers for so long was that they were wise and they strategically planned every move.  At one time their were thousands of arrows shot into the air aiming at the 300 and they all stood closely together while holding up their shields making an umbrella-like shield and once the arrows fell, they only hit 300 shields.

According to the Matthew Henry, KJV Bible, I am going to break down each piece of your dressings.  You will know what each piece is needed for and why you need the whole armour of God.  (Truth), truth or sincerity is our girdle (our belt), God desires truth in the inward parts. (Breastplate of Righteousness), the breastplate secures (protects) our hearts, which Satan uses against us. (Feet shod), these were part of the military armour which were shoes of brass, they were used to defend against traps and sharp sticks laid in the way to obstruct the marching of the enemy.  (Preparation of the Gospel), signifies a prepared and resolved frame of heart to adhere to the gospel, which will enable us to walk with a steady pace in the way of religion.  It is describes as the gospel of peace because it brings all sorts of peace. (Shield of Faith), Faith must be our shield.  This is more necessary than any of them.  Faith is all in all to us in an hour of temptation.  The breastplate secures the heart, but with the shield we turn every way.  Faith is like a shield, a sort of universal defense. (Fiery darts), His temptations by way of allusion to the poisonous darts which inflamed the parts of the body, these are the darts which the devil shoots at us.  You need your shield of faith to cover your heart so that the darts do not hit us or at least they may not hurt us.  Faith, acted upon the word of God and the grace of Christ, quenches the darts of temptation.  (Helmet of Salvation), this is hope.  The helmet protects the head, the devil attacks your state of mind.  If the devil can keep you confused you will not be able to use the rest of your armour.  Satan's temptation starts in our minds.  Your helmet will comfort the soul and keep it from being troubled and tormented by Satan.  He would tempt us to despair, but good hop keeps us trusting in God, and rejoicing in Him. (Sword of the Spirit), The word of God is the sword to the Spirit; the Word of God is very necessary for every Christian, in order to maintain the spiritual warfare and to succeed in it. (Prayer), prayer must buckle on all the other parts of our Christian armour.  We must pray with all kinds of prayer, confession of sin, petition for mercy, and thanksgiving for favors received.  And we must pray with supplication, not for ourselves only, but for all saints, for we are member of one another.

I know this is a lot to read, but it is in the bible for a reason.  God's desire for you is for you to be eqipped each and every day that you wake up in the morning.  Your morning prayer should include these scriptures and one of the ways that you can do that is to pray that the Holy Spirit covers you with the full armour of God.  It would be great if you memorize each piece so that you can even pray on your way to work.

Heavenly Father, I thank you for fresh revelation concerning Your full armour.  Lord, I pray that you forgive me of my sins and shortcomings and I thank you that you are such a forgiving God.  Now Lord as I rise up this morning and start my day, I pray that you arm me and protect with Your full armour according to Galatians 6:13-18 and by faith I receive them, in Jesus name, Amen!
