A NEW ENGINE

(1 Peter 3:3-5),  Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes.  Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful.

I can remember my first car.  I was so excited to have it that I drove all the way home singing a song to my car.  Mainly because I had no radio, but I was intended to use my pocket radio as soon as I got some AA batteries. LOL.  As soon as I got home, I ran upstairs to tell my parents to look out the window and see my new car, I was so proud.  They looked out the window and the look of wonder covered their faces because they didn't see a new car.  What they actually saw was a little 4-door, Nova, Chevrolet, covered in rust but what they didn't know was that it had a new engine.  I was still just smiling, admiring my new car.  My son was 4 at the time and I said, "Hey, mommy got a new car, we don't have to take the bus anymore."  I hurried and took him downstairs on the elevator and as we began to walk up to the car, he stopped and said, "ewwh, this ain't no new car!"  I looked at him and said, "It's a new car, to me".

My point to this story is that sometimes not everyone sees things the way you do.  Sometimes no everyone will accept the new you.  They are looking at you from the outside and have no idea what you are actually working with on the inside.  You were the friend that they used to get high with, party with and gossip with, but the more you seek out Christ, the more He changes you from the inside.  So they are looking at you with their naked eyes but God is looking at you with His spiritual eyes.  God does not see your outside, nor does He care about your outside, God is concerned about your heart, whatcha working with on the inside.  You see, God doesn't care what you are wearing, how good your nails look or how much you paid for your jewelry.  God is so beautiful that you can never outlook Him.  You can spend thousands of dollars on your outward appearance and still you won't impress God.   You may be able to impress your friends, but to God, you are wearing cheap clothes and jewelry.

Woman of God, I know that some of you have friends and family members that dress to impress all the time.  They have to have a weekly appointment at the salon for their hair and nails and their jewelry is always sparkling in church.  They are clean on the outside but their inner most parts are dirty.  They are unloving, talk about you behind your back, tell all your secrets and are no where to be found when you really need a friend.  That is the total opposite of God.  His innermost parts are beauty, loving, kind, compassionate and friendly.  He will never tell your secrets, talk about you behind your back and will always be there, wherever you are when you need Him.

So what, you can't always afford to get your hair done. So what, you don't get your nails done and so what, you don't have the latest trendy clothes.  Just like my car, it had a new engine and it ran better than most new cars.  Once you start living your life according to biblical principals and glorify God with all your heart, it's like getting a new engine.  The outside may not look rich, but the inside is very rich and you won't every go bankrupt.  When tough financial times hit, your new engine will sustain all the challenges of life.  You seem to look the same on the outside but just like a car, you can't see the new engine until you actually life up the hood and look inside.  DO YOU HAVE A NEW ENGINE?  If not, you are going to run out of oil and your car will break down in the middle of the expressway.  The last place you will want to break down at is in the middle of heavy traffic.  If you are only concerned with how you look on the outside, your friend with rusty car will pass you up in the fast lane.  When things get really bad and traffic is heavy, your friends will want to ride with you because of your new engine.  PRAISE GOD!

STAND STILL

Good morning, Mighty woman of God!  This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.  No matter what, God's got your back.

(Ephesians 6:12-13), For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.  Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground and after you have done everything to stand.

The Lord has given us a powerful message for today.  Earlier this week I blogged about the fact that we wrestle not against flesh and blood.  Again, the writer is reminded us that are fight is not against what we and see with our eyes, but what we cannot see happening in the spirit realm.  So, no matter what your circumstance or situation that you may be dealing with, it is all in the spirit realm.  Until the day that Jesus Christ comes back for us, our battle will be in the spirit realm.  It doesn't matter if it is financial problems, relationships, children, parents, employment, car need to be fixed, etc.  You see in all of those circumstances God is in control and He will give you favor over all things on the earth.  He will give you favor on the job, with the car repair man, over your finances and even when it comes to calling the electric company for an extension to keep your lights on.

Let's focus on the part of the scripture that says, "YOU MAY BE ABLE TO STAND YOUR GROUND AND AFTER YOU HAVE DONE EVERYTHING TO STAND".  There are a number of things that YOU must do before you STAND.  The first thing that you must do is to PRAY.  Pray and make your request known to God.  Jesus Christ sits on the right hand of God the Father, interceding on your behalf.  Jesus interceding on your behalf means that He is moving in the spirit realm on your behalf.  Making everything work out on your behalf.  The next thing that you must do is PRAY for God's favor (grace).  Next, you must do everything that YOU can concerning your situation.  Whether is is making phone calls to bill collectors, calling your landlord, getting up and finding a job, job interviews, etc.  Do all that you can on the earth, as far as what you can see (visible).  If you don't do anything that how will you know that God has given you favor with people, places and things.  Sometimes people will say, "I'm just trusting God", for this or that.  But the mistake that you can make with that statement is that you have not done anything to see if God has given you favor over your circumstances.  So you sit and do nothing.  The most important thing that YOU MUST do is have faith, trust and believe that God is going to give you favor.  It does you no good to pray for something and have doubt in your heart.  Once you have done all those things then STAND and watch God move on your behalf.

HALLELUJAH!  The Holy Spirit is given that message to someone for today.  Not only that, as I write this I am hearing the Spirit say that this message is for me too.  I thank God for being my God.  I am so excited because I am believing Him for so much this year.  Not only that, I keep hearing the Spirit of the Lord saying, someone else is expecting a miracle this year.  You have been praying and praying, waiting and waiting, standing and standing, God says, "Get ready, get ready, get ready, because of your obedience through your struggle, your labor is not in vain.  PRAISE GOD, for that prophetic word.  God bless you.

WHEN YOU STUMBLE

Mighty Woman of God, I thank the Lord for each of you and your prayers daily.  "Spiritual Growth for Women Ministry", started one year ago and the group has grown to over 300 women.  I pray that through this ministry you have been blessed by the daily devotions.  I have had the opportunity to pray with several of you, either by phone or messages and I pray that you have found that I am a vessel of God and I will never betray your confidence.

(Psalms 37:23-24), If the Lord delights in a man's way, He makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand.

When you stumble, why not say, "if you stumble?" It would be unrealistic for me to assume that you would never stumble at some point in your spiritual journey. You will stumble, that's a given. We all stumble at some time, even the most elect in the churches. We are imperfect people and therefore we are always doomed to that awful thing called "sin".

When I got baptized into the Body of Christ, I immediately thought that all my sins were washed away as soon as I came up from that pool. The bible says, “All things are new, the old has passed away and that I would be a new creature in Christ.” That was exactly what I was expecting, right then and there, right on the spot. I was under the assumption that as soon as I left the church, I would not smoke, drink or do any drugs. I thought all those things fell off in the pool. Boy was I sadly mistaken. Nobody told me that I would actually have to work at keeping myself away from those things.

As soon as I left the church, I got in the car and had my cigarette. Why didn't this stay in that pool of water? Once I got home, I slipped into my comfortable clothes and smoke a joint. Why didn't that stay in that pool of water? I wasn't done yet, I had to have my drink, that didn't stay in the pool either, imagine that. What did I get for being baptized? What special powers do I have? That was exactly what I was thinking. I later came to realize that I did have power, but I did not know anything about the power of the Holy Spirit. So to me, all I got was really wet.

Well, I mind as well keep going to church. It's not that far from the house and I did like the pastor and the choir. I had a great time at church when it came to fellowship with the other saints. I kept going back, I just kept going back. Sunday after Sunday, then Bible study after Bible Study. Eventually the power that I was expecting finally showed up. I begin to get convicted of those things that I just wasn't ready to leave at the altar. That power was the Holy Spirit and He wasn't giving up on me without a fight. Thank you Jesus.

I stood at the altar and had hands lay upon me three times for drugs, twice for alcohol and I can't even count how many times for cigarettes. Each time that I got up off that purple carpet, I thought things just magically disappeared. Nope, they didn't. I stumbled again and again, until finally I had to make up in my own mind that I was worth more. I had to come to the realization that I was valuable to Christ.

Woman of God, don't spend time worrying about how many times you stumble, as long as you don't stay down. If you are having trouble with a particular sin in your life, keep stepping and the Lord will take care of it, if you truly desire to be free from whatever it is.  Don't let the enemy trick you into thinking that God is not going to kept helping you. Yes, He will, if you keep going back. Think about how many times you help your own children that you love. God loves you more than that so just keep on stepping. The bible says that a just man will fall seven times. Consider yourself a just woman and you will stumble, it’s in your nature, but you have to make a conscience decision that you are going to be a fighter; not only will you be a fighter, but you will be a winner.

The scripture clearly states that the Lord will make your step's firm, if He delights in you. The Lord delights in you every time He sees you trying, striving towards perfection. He will not let you fall; He will uphold you with His hands. Praise God! Amen!

WELCOME HOLY SPIRIT

Good Morning, Mighty Woman of God!  I speak the spirit of peace and joy upon your life.  I pray that the Lord will place a hedge of thorns around you and you will have victory of the enemy, in Jesus name.

(Acts 1:4-8), And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.  For john truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence (8), But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come unto you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Have you ever noticed that you could have the taste for something and you keep eating until you are satisfied. Sometimes you might crave a Pepsi or Coke and when you are given a Spite you are not satisfied, until you finally get that Pepsi or Coke. Nothing else will quench that craving that you have. Our spirit and soul quenches after the Holy Spirit daily. Once you have tasted or shall I say felt the presence of God in your life, you won't settled for just a portion of God, you want what you are used to receiving.

The Holy Spirit is the one who brings the voice of God into your heart with clarity.  God: the more of the Holy Spirit you have within you, the clearer you will hear His voice.  God: the presence of the Holy Spirit in you life daily has to be ushered in, meaning Good morning, Holy Spirit.  Do this everyday, renewing His presence.  If you listen, you will be aware, have knowledge of what you should or should not do concerning your day to day life.  Man was made in the imagine of God and His likeness, that is the reason why we all crave for the presence of God in our life.  We thirst for the presence of God because it satisfies us.  Have you ever been in a place where the Spirit of the Lord was so overwhelming that you just began crying for no apparent reason?  Or have you've ever been in church and the move of God was so strong that you and people next to you began to dance or fall out?  Once you have had that experience, you know in your heart that the presence of God fell and rested upon you, you won't just settle for a small breeze, your spirit will crave a rushing mighty wind all over you.

God rested with Moses once Moses was transformed into the man that God needed him to become.  God talked with Moses, taught Moses, gave Moses instructions on how to approach the Pharaoh and how to lead the people out of Egypt.  God told Moses to raise his hands and part the Red Sea.  In the New Testament we read about the birth of Jesus Christ.  We read about His ministry and His betrayal by Judas.  Once Jesus Christ was nailed to the cross and took all of our sins upon Himself he descended up to heaven after His death.  Jesus Christ appeared to the twelve disciples to prove to them that they were not alone and that His Father, God, sent Him to be the Messiah.  In the book of Acts, Jesus Christ tells His disciples to stay around a little longer because once He was gone, He will send another, which is the Holy Spirit, His Spirit, the Spirit of the Lord. A lot of the times we forget about the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit is not the least of the God-head, He is equal, because He is the Spirit of the Lord.  Just as you may pray and say, "God I thank you for a beautiful day".  It would not be demeaning to God is you say, "Holy Spirit, I thank you for a beautiful day", because you will be praying to the Spirit of the Lord.  Jesus told the disciples that once the Holy Spirit comes, He will teach you all things.  PRAISE GOD!

I pray that you have been given more knowledge of who the Holy Spirit is and how He works in you day to day life.  The book of Acts explains in more details of the Holy Spirit (the Spirit of the Lord).

DO NOT DISTURB!

Good Morning, Mighty Woman of God!  I speak blessings of peace and joy upon your life on today and may your spirit rest in Jesus Christ as you walk in love with Him.

(1 John 4:4), Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Exactly what does that scripture mean to you?  Who is in you?  Who is in the world?  God is saying that you are of Him, you are one of His little children and because of who you are in Him and who He is in you; you can and will always have victory over the devil.  Jesus Christ overcame the devil the moment He died on the cross for your sins and mine.  He overcame, so that you and I can overcome.  Greater is He that is in you, which is Jesus Christ, once you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you were given dominion over the enemy.  Jesus Christ is greater than Satan, so greater is the Holy Spirit that is within you than Satan that is within the world.

Woman of God, when the devil tries to overtake your mind with the pettiness of this world, all you have to do is keep repeating that scripture over and over in your mind.  Don't just repeat it, but believe it with your innermost being.  Some of you have the enemy calling you everyday in your mind, everyday in your heart.  Just like clockwork, he is waking you up and going to bed with you.  You can't go nowhere without him, calling and calling.  You can't seem to hide from him, you can't run from him.  He just won't leave you alone.  Reminding you of your past over and over again.  You're not good enough, you did this wrong, you did that wrong, when are you going to get it together?  He's constantly in your mind and you have forgotten the basics of that very scripture.

Woman of God, it's time for you to put a DO NOT DISTURB sign over your forehead.  Let the devil know he's no longer welcome anymore.  He's not welcome in your mind anymore.  He's not welcome in your heart anymore, he's not welcome in your home anymore, GET OUT!  I'm not going to allow you to have my mind anymore, you can't have my husband, you can't have my children, GET OUT AND DO NOT DISTURB ME ANYMORE.  CAUSE GREATER IS HE THAT IS WITHIN ME, THAN YOU!

Please remember to sign up for the Women's Conference, May 25th, 2P-4P, in the Chicagoland area.  The event is FREE!  I only have two months left to plan the activities for this event so having an estimate number of guests is very important so I can have enough room and have a great time in the Lord.  Thank you.  God bless you.

LET'S GET DRESS

Good Morning, Mighty Woman of God!  I speak blessings of peace and joy upon your life on today.  I hope that you have had an opportunity to read yesterday's message, because today is the second part of that message.  As you read, please pray that the Lord will give you wisdom and understanding, as the Holy Spirit breaks down each piece of your armour. God bless you.

(Galatians 6:13-18), Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand.  Stand therefore, having you loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness: And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.  And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

I love war movies where people are in full body armour and fighting with their swords and shields.  One of my favorite movies is 300.  There were 300 soldiers that fought for days against the Prince of Persia's army of thousands.  One of the reasons why the 300 men were able to stand against thousands of soldiers for so long was that they were wise and they strategically planned every move.  At one time their were thousands of arrows shot into the air aiming at the 300 and they all stood closely together while holding up their shields making an umbrella-like shield and once the arrows fell, they only hit 300 shields.

According to the Matthew Henry, KJV Bible, I am going to break down each piece of your dressings.  You will know what each piece is needed for and why you need the whole armour of God.  (Truth), truth or sincerity is our girdle (our belt), God desires truth in the inward parts. (Breastplate of Righteousness), the breastplate secures (protects) our hearts, which Satan uses against us. (Feet shod), these were part of the military armour which were shoes of brass, they were used to defend against traps and sharp sticks laid in the way to obstruct the marching of the enemy.  (Preparation of the Gospel), signifies a prepared and resolved frame of heart to adhere to the gospel, which will enable us to walk with a steady pace in the way of religion.  It is describes as the gospel of peace because it brings all sorts of peace. (Shield of Faith), Faith must be our shield.  This is more necessary than any of them.  Faith is all in all to us in an hour of temptation.  The breastplate secures the heart, but with the shield we turn every way.  Faith is like a shield, a sort of universal defense. (Fiery darts), His temptations by way of allusion to the poisonous darts which inflamed the parts of the body, these are the darts which the devil shoots at us.  You need your shield of faith to cover your heart so that the darts do not hit us or at least they may not hurt us.  Faith, acted upon the word of God and the grace of Christ, quenches the darts of temptation.  (Helmet of Salvation), this is hope.  The helmet protects the head, the devil attacks your state of mind.  If the devil can keep you confused you will not be able to use the rest of your armour.  Satan's temptation starts in our minds.  Your helmet will comfort the soul and keep it from being troubled and tormented by Satan.  He would tempt us to despair, but good hop keeps us trusting in God, and rejoicing in Him. (Sword of the Spirit), The word of God is the sword to the Spirit; the Word of God is very necessary for every Christian, in order to maintain the spiritual warfare and to succeed in it. (Prayer), prayer must buckle on all the other parts of our Christian armour.  We must pray with all kinds of prayer, confession of sin, petition for mercy, and thanksgiving for favors received.  And we must pray with supplication, not for ourselves only, but for all saints, for we are member of one another.

I know this is a lot to read, but it is in the bible for a reason.  God's desire for you is for you to be eqipped each and every day that you wake up in the morning.  Your morning prayer should include these scriptures and one of the ways that you can do that is to pray that the Holy Spirit covers you with the full armour of God.  It would be great if you memorize each piece so that you can even pray on your way to work.

Heavenly Father, I thank you for fresh revelation concerning Your full armour.  Lord, I pray that you forgive me of my sins and shortcomings and I thank you that you are such a forgiving God.  Now Lord as I rise up this morning and start my day, I pray that you arm me and protect with Your full armour according to Galatians 6:13-18 and by faith I receive them, in Jesus name, Amen!

WHY ME? WHY NOT YOU?

Good Morning, Mighty Woman of God.  The Lord has an awesome message for you today.  If you really study this message and let it permeated through your heart and mind, you will have gained knowledge that the devil never wants you to know.

(Ephesians 6:10-12), Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Apostle Paul is the author of most of the New Testament of the bible.  Here is Paul reminded us saints of God as to what we should be watching out for when it comes to spiritual warfare.  Now, I do realize that not every denomination/church teaches on spiritual warfare.  In my opinion, you cannot survive spiritually if you do not have knowledge of the Holy Spirits work or the enemy.  Ephesians Chapter 6 is very important for you because Paul explains how to be on constant guard over your soul.

The first thing that Paul wants us to know is that no matter what challenges and adversities that you face on a day to day basis, he says finally, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His mighty.  After you have done all you can, be strong and rely on the Lord strength to pull you through your stressful moments.  The second thing, the Lord wants you to do, while you are going through your trial is to put on the whole armour of God.  Without the whole armour of God you will not be able to stand against the devils weapons.  You cannot stand on your own strength so you need to put on the armour of God.  Imagine yourself in battle without armour.  Your enemy has everything that he needs to defeat you, but you have shown up for a fight without armour or a weapon.  You will lose.

Mighty woman of God, when you are going through a challenging time or when things look despair to you, look closely at what you are facing.  If you are going through a tough time in your household, whether is it your spouse or children, you need to remember that you are not battling against them.  Paul is saying that you need to understand that you are not wrestling against flesh and blood.  What this means is that when you are fighting against a persons flesh you will not get anywhere with them.  This is a spiritual battle and you are fighting against the demonic spirit that is on that person.  No, this does not mean that the person or persons are possessed, it means that a demonic spirit is trying to get to you.  We wrestle against Satan's angels of darkness.  Those are the principalities that Paul is describing.  The ruler of this world is not Jesus Christ.  The ruler of this world is Satan.  Satan will continue to be ruler of this world until Jesus Christ comes back for His bride (the saints).

Why you?  Why Not?  God is not the only one that knows what your spiritual gifts are or what they can do to the enemies kingdom.  The devil is well aware of your spiritual gifts, that is a big part of why you seem to be going through so much havoc in your life.  If the devil can keep you focusing on the Why me . . . he will keep you from the full knowledge of how to use your spiritual gift to be victorious over him.  The term, "new levels, new devils", is very true.  The closer you get to Christ, the closer you are to defeating the devil.  His tactic is once you overcome one of his angels, he will send a more powerful one, and again and again.  That is one of the reasons why it seems to you that once you get over one hump, here's comes another one.  It's because of your spiritual gift that the Holy Spirit has placed on the inside of you.  That is why it is so important for you to know what particular demonic spirit you are battling at all times.

If your life seems to be in constant turmoil, that's a good thing.  Continue to be strong in the Lord and His power and you will not even notice when you have been under attack.  If you household seems to be in chaos, don't take it out on the person because you are not dealing with their flesh and blood.  You are dealing with principalities of darkness.  Pray to God and ask Him to reveal to you what particular demonic spirit that you are dealing with and He will give you the answer.  Ask the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom and knowledge as to how to pray for that person, your finances or any other area in your life where the devil is attacking you.  One more thing, if the devil ain't bothering you then you are not a threat to him.  You need to be a threat to him.  The more of a threat that you are to him, the more devils he sends your way.  So glorify God in the midst of your trial and you will come out victorious.  WHY ME?  It's because of the Holy Spirit within you.  Amen!

I pray that this message has been of some help to you, as you are on your spiritual journey with the Lord.  Tomorrow, I will go through the whole armour of God.  We are going to get dress and be ready for those principalities.  GOD BLESS YOU!
