EMPTY YOUR PURSE

Happy Thursday, Mighty Woman of God!  My prayer for you is that you will walk upright before the Lord God and that you are blessed and highly favored as you follow after Him, seek after Him with all of your heart.

(Matthew 29-30), Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto you souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Using the Vine's Complete Expository Dictionary, the word meek is defines as; it is that temper of spirit in which we accept His dealings with us as good, and therefore without deluding or resisting; it is closely linked with the word humility.

New Year's Resolution is a covenant that people usually make either with themselves or with someone else.  You promise to stop or start certain activities in your life.  You are basically stating that you are going to change your life for the better.  The most popular New Year's Resolution is that people say that the will lose weight.  Well, I think that one is perfect.  But instead of losing physical weight, let's lose some of the weight that we as women tend to carry, such as guilt and unforgiveness.  If you focus on letting go of some of the guilt and unforgiveness that you are carrying, I promise you will lose a lot of dead weight off your heart.

Mighty woman of God, it's time for you to finally empty your purse.  You have carried that guilt and unforgiveness long enough.  Just like hamsters and squirrels, you are just packing it all in until you are so full that you cannot put anything good in your purse.  Maybe your purse is so full of the bad things that you haven't forgiving yourself from that you have no room to accept God's forgiveness, His blessing, His mercy or grace into your purse.

There are two powerful parables in the bible that will help you to truly understand just how merciful and gracious God is towards you (His child).  The prodigal son is one of the parables that I like.  This man's son decided to leave his father's house to go out and do his own thing.  Against the father's will, the son thought that he could to better in the world instead of following after God.  Everyday this father waited for his son to come home, he didn't forget about the son that stayed because he was at home.  After several years the man's son finally shows up back home.  The father runs to greet him, he draped his son with new fine clothing and had a big feast for him.

Of course, the son felt guilty and ashamed that he didn't listen to his father and stay home.  Of course the son wanted his father's love and forgiveness.  He didn't know whether or not his father would even accept him back home after defying his father's wishes but he took a chance.

Jesus tells this parable in hopes to give you hope.  Letting you know that your Heavenly Father loves you more than the father loved his son.  Jesus wants you to know that you no longer have to carrying around feelings of guilt and shame about the things you did that were not pleasing to God.  If you have made the decision to repent and return home to the Lord, he is willing to accept you into His loving arms.  God will drape you will new linen (which is the Holy Spirit), feed you a big feast (which is the Word of God) and never bring up your sins against Him again.

You are the only one still holding on to your past.  You are the only one that is keeping guilt and shame in your purse.  God is not holding your past against you.  Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior has nailed your sin to the cross with Him.  He has done this because of His love for you.  Whatever you may have done in your past, that did not glorify God, He has forgiven and forgotten. It is you that it holding your past against you.  Stuffing all your guilt and shame in your purse is keeping you from drawing closer to God.  You don't believe that you have truly been forgiven.  That is the biggest trick of Satan.  Satan wants you to do exactly what you are doing, feeling guilty and unloving by God.

It's not too late to make a New Year's Resolution to yourself and accept God's forgiveness and unconditional love for you.  PRAISE THE LORD!

It's not too late to sign up for the upcoming Women's Conference to be held on May 25th from 2P-5P.  This event is FREE!  Come out for fellowship, food and an awesome word and move of the Lord.  Sign in on my events calendar or email at deirdrehunt 506@yahoo.com.  Thank you and I'll see you soon!
