QUESTIONING GOD, ASK AWAY

Good morning, Mighty Woman of God,  I pray that you are blessed and highly favored of the Lord.  The message that the Lord is giving us today, will definitely be a blessing to you.

(Exodus 3:11-14), But Moses said to God, "Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?"  And God said, "I will be with you.  And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you:  When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain"  Moses said to God, "Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, "The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they ask me, "What is his name?"  Then what shall I tell them?"  God said to Moses, "I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites.  I am has sent me to you".

This is a timely message for you.  I pray that you will gain knowledge and understanding as you read today's devotion.  I keep hearing people say that you are not suppose to question God.  So they don't ask God any questions.  The problem with that is (1) if you don't ask God any questions, how will you know what direction or His plan is for your life. (2) if you don't ask God any questions, how will you know what to do when you are going through difficult times in your life. (3) if you don't ask God questions, how to you consider to have a relationship with Him.  Those are very important questions.

You have to know and understand exactly what the bible is saying about questioning God.  If you have a relationship with God, you can ask Him questions.  I have found that many people that say, "You are not suppose to question God, don't have a personal relationship with Him.  There is a difference between having a personal relationship with God and just having a relationship with Him.  Having a personal relationship with God is the same as having a personal relationship with your spouse.  You know most everything about your spouse.  Their likes and dislikes, color of their hair, favorite foods, music, television programs, etc.  Because you love and care about your spouse you make it your business to learn everything about them so that you are able to please them.  As far as a relationship goes, you probably have a relationship with your neighbor.  You talk to them from time to time.  And they may tell you some things that may be going on in their lives, but you will never know what goes on behind their closed doors.  Do you see the difference?  You cannot ask your neighbor about personal things, but you can ask your spouse about personal things.  That's because you have a personal relationship with your spouse.  The problem that most people have is that they will tell me that they don't know if they are hearing from God.  This leaves them not to ask God questions.  The bible says, "My sheep know my voice".  Meaning if you talk to God often or have a personal relationship with Him, you will know His voice.  You will know when He is giving you the answers to your questions.

Moses had a relationship with God.  As you can see from the above scripture, Moses asked God three questions after God gave him directions as far as how to deal with the Pharaoh. Moses needed assurance that God would be with him.  So he asked God, who am I to go to Egypt.  God answered Moses, then Moses ask another question, what if....., God answers Moses.  Then Moses had one more question, "Who name shall I tell him", God answers Moses again.  You see, because Moses had a personal relationship with God, God allowed him to ask questions.  Not only that, God was sending Moses on an assignment for him. If God gives you an assignment and you don't know exactly how to go about executing that which He has told you to do, you have to ask Him.  If you never ask God anything, how will you know if you are travelling in the right direction.  So you see, Moses is not questioning God's motives, he is simply asking God questions.

When you pray to the Lord, are you simply asking for Him to bless you and everything.  Prayer is suppose to be personal not just you shouting out your list of things that you want God to do for you.  If you spend five minutes in prayer, then you can expect five minute blessings.  God's desire is to have a personal relationship with His people.  He is not Santa Claus.  You might spend five minutes shouting out your prayer request to God then you say "In Jesus name, Amen".  You leave the room and all the while, God is looking at you saying "I have answers for you, where are you going".  Just something for you to think about.

If you don't have a personal relationship with God, you can start today.  Spend more time talking to Him.  You can talk to Him in your car on your way to work.  During your lunch hour, while you are cooking and even during your evening bath.  If you start spending more time speaking to God, your relationship will change from just having a relationship to having a personal relationship.  Then you will be able to hear His voice.  You cannot hear God's voice if you are trying to get through prayer.  PRAISE GOD!
